Everybody´s darling

The K240 MKII professional over-ear, semi-open headphones are a long-time standard in studios, in orchestras and on stages around the world. Its advanced Varimotion 30 mm XXL transducers deliver solid low end, accurate mids and crystal-clear highs. The semi-open design provides the airiness of open headphones with the powerful bass response of closed designs. For more than three decades, professional engineers and musicians have made the K240 the most widely used headphones in studios and at live consoles around the world. Award-winning producer/engineer Steve Pageot about AKG K240 MKII: "I don't see myself wearing other headphones in the studio, I have three pairs in my home studio; once you put them on you can spend an entire session without ear fatigue and sonically they are engineered for the safety of your ears."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are cheaper EVERYWHERE else! I have been an AKG fan for over 40 years! I am on my THIRD pair in forty years! The first model I had was AKG 141 and after hearing the K240's I am forever spoiled by this pure sound these deliver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding I cannot speak highly enough of these headphones. The fidelity and clarity is absolutely incredible. I love the fact that they come with two detachable leads as well as replaceable ear cups. I personally use the suede and I find them to be the most comfortable units on the market today. GREAT value for money 5 stars

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality sound, long lasting. Overall excellent! I bought these headphones back in April of 2014 from Sweetwater. After 3 years of use they're still going strong. I can happily say that I have had no issues with these what-so-ever. My favorite thing about these headphones is how comfortable they are. While I am not a musical professional, I spend every day at the PC working on programming and tech-art while listening to music and communicating with co-workers. They're lightweight and semi-open ear which allows me to feel almost as if I'm not wearing headphones at all. This allows me to remain aware of my work environment while enjoying high quality sound. Thanks AKG for creating a quality product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Still Sound Good I have been using AKG headphones for over 30 years, and still have my first pair of 240 Monitors in service. Unfortunately, The last two pairs purchased a 240 MKii Studio, and a set of 271s, both broke at the plastic block where the bolt captures the ear cup. The plastic compound is now very brittle, unlike the old material, and the size of the block is far smaller in dimension.

i ordered a pair of these after reading about extended flat response. now i'm seeing graphs showing a real drop off at about 50hz. by 20 it looks like it's down by at least 12 db maybe more. after a 10k peak, the high end seems to take a dive as well.

I think you don't need any answer anymore, but for the others who can see it I'll answer. For that price/Quality Ratio, they are very good, if not the best (I don't work for AKG haha). I treat them very poorly and they are still working like a charm after 5 years of loyal service. You have to remember that they are Headphones and they will not replace a real high brand monitoring system, but you can reach an excellent result with them. I Use them for everything, from music production to Gaming (I have high brand gaming headphones but AKG stuff is sooooo confortable). If your budget is no more than ... let's say... 220€, you won't find anything better in my opinion. Good luck in your researchs :)
