“We wanted to build a system working for any kind of application, ranging from a conference with one microphone only to loud rock concerts.“ explains Paal Solli from LydRommet who did the consultation, design, programming and tuning on this amazing project. “On the one hand also people without technical background should be able to run the whole system, one the other hand we needed a excellent sounding and flexible system that is inspiring to work for musical and artistic work.”

The biggest challenge was the integration of the A/V system. LydRommet has good knowledge about all the Harman Pro devices, therefore, this was straight forward. The big challenge was the optimisation respectively finding the best location of the speakers, not getting in the way for screens and projectors, but still maintaining the outstanding acoustically performance of the Harman Pro system. Moreover, the configuration of the BSS Soundweb system driving all the speakers had to be quite advanced. There are totally three 5.1 sources: one from the PA-mixer, one from the DVD-player for conference use and one for the PC running in widescreen format. Although the BSS Soundweb is controlled using Crestron, a intensive logic processing was neccessary to make things work smoothly. In addition, AKG wireless mics (AKG WMS 450) and a couple of wired mics are connected to the Soundweb for conference applications.

“AKG was chosen because Lydromment have had very good experience for many years.” explains Paal Solli. “It's as simple as that.”
