Successful acoustic mission at biggest charity event against AIDS This year Sharon Stone, Debbie Harry, Amanda Leopre, and local VIPs including Mi-chael Häupl, Alfons Haider, Miriam Weichselbraun, Supermax, Drahdiwaberl and many others embarked on a journey to the “Planet Life Ball" together with Gery Keszler. Their mission: to create a bridgehead to supposedly hostile universes to facilitate enlightenment about and the fight against aids. This year’s Life Ball whisked its guests on Vienna’s Rathausplatz away to strange galaxies with an impressive line-up of Austrian and international stars, perform-ances and entertainment. It goes without saying that only sound equipment that meets the most exacting demands can be used on a journey of this nature. This is why the Life Ball once again depended on AKG in 2008. Over 60 wireless systems (WMS 4000, IVM 4 in-ear monitoring) were successfully deployed on seven stages together with the entire range of AKG Premium microphones (D 5, C 5, MicroMic, C 414, C 4500, C 451, D 40, C 577, etc.). The 2008 Life Ball also featured an AKG premiere: the custom designed AKG WMS 4500 Life Ball microphone was used for the first time ever. AKG has been involved in the Life Ball for many years now. “Social engagement is a permanent feature of our corporate philosophy. Supporting the Life Ball is naturally a moral obligation for us,” explains AKG President Stefan Gubi. |
