AKG Microphones For Shaolin & Wudang Kung Fu Show

Demonstrating its commitment to providing outstanding audio quality in the most demanding and diverse environments, AKG microphones and in-ear monitoring systems are currently on tour with the uniquely entertaining Shaolin & Wudang Kung Fu show. Supporting the Shaolin Kung Fu and Wudang Tai Chi masters on stage, as well as the four-person Yin-Yang Orchestra, AKG microphones provide premium sound quality and reliability for speech, vocal and instrument applications during every show.

Shaolin & Wudang’s “The Other Side of China” show is a brand new two-hour family production entertaining crowds with a combination of Kung Fu, Tai Chi and fighting techniques all under the general principle of two philosophies: Zen Buddhism and Yin & Yang.  Show-goers witness the dazzling exercises of the 14 Shaolin and Wudang masters demonstrating an awe-inspiring example of perfect harmony between mind and body. The attention-capturing visual show is reinforced by original Chinese music as played by the live orchestra consisting of yang qin (a Chinese form of dulcimer), flute, Chinese violin and percussion.

“Flawless sound quality is imperative for a dynamic show such as this,” explained Walter Ruehrig, Product Marketing Manager, AKG. “We are thrilled that the Shaolin & Wudang production has chosen AKG microphones to demonstrate the principals of the mind-body connection to audiences worldwide, who are truly immersed in the experience both visually and acoustically.”

Five AKG D 5 vocal microphones and two C 520 MicroMic headsets provide durable and reliable vocal support for the masters throughout the show. The four-piece orchestra is supported by AKG’s new WMS 450 wireless system, along with a C 516 MicroMic clip-on mic for drums, and CK 77 lavalier microphone for mandoline, gong and dulcimer.  Additionally, for both the masters and orchestra, the production utilizes new AKG IVM 4 in-ear monitoring systems with built-in dbx processing for maximum reliability.

Currently touring Italy, the show will visit Spain, France, the Netherlands and South America in 2008. For more information on the Shaolin & Wudang tour, please visit http://www.theatreproductions.eu/.
