The highest award for a microphone legend: AKG C 414 has been selected for induction into the TECnology Hall of Fame.

The AKG C 414 will be introduced to the TECnology Hall of Fame on October 5th, 2007 at AES in New York City. This honor is another step for the popular and technologically advanced microphone to becoming a legend. The C 414 has been in thousands of studios and on stage with numerous stars.

The famous C 414 design was introduced 1962 with the C 12 A. 1971 saw the birth of the C 414 model that brought in the then new transistor-technology. In recent years, the design was re-branded, the technology improved and the technical equipment updated, offering unparalleled flexibility the largest set of dedicated accessories supplied.

“The C 414 is one of the big legends in the modern pro audio world,” said Alfred Reinprecht, Vice President for Marketing & Product Management AKG. “It combines loving attention to detail with high quality – two concerns that always come first for AKG in its longstanding product history. We are very proud that this microphone is being inducted into the TECnology Hall of Fame because of its extraordinary and enduring benefits for the world of professional audio.”

Established in 2004, the TECnology Hall of Fame recognizes products and innovations that have made a significant, lasting contribution to the advancement of audio technology. Inductees are chosen by a panel of more than 50 audio experts, including authors, educators, engineers, facility owners and other professionals. Products or innovations must be at least 10 years old to be eligible for induction.
