AKG Supports Lifeball 2007 With Excellent Sound



Life Ball 2007 was Austria’s largest charity event in the fight against HIV and AIDS to date this year.

Celebrating its 15-year anniversary on May 26, 2007, the Life Ball began with a large opening ceremony in the square outside of Vienna’s City Hall. With a crowd of over 40,000 people and millions more watching on television, there was exceptional importance on the sound quality throughout the square. Therefore, the Life Ball organization chose to work with AKG to ensure the very best quality for this important event.

With a large array of instruments and vocals to account for, Life Ball turned to the AKG WMS 4000 wireless microphone system with vocal, stage and orchestra options. The WMS 4000 provides the flexibility and reliability Life Ball requires for such a dynamic event. Also on stage was the new AKG D 5 vocal microphone. Developed especially for live performance applications, the D 5 dynamic mic provides high gain before feedback and delivers a clean sound in even the noisiest of live circumstances.

Young Austrian star, Eric Papilaya, the official singer of the Life Ball 2007 song “Get a Life – Get Alive,” utilized an AKG WMS 4000 with D 5 head during the opening ceremony, guaranteeing that the message of this important song, the spirit of the Life Ball, was heard loud and clear.
