Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jay Schellen began playing drums at age 11 after 7 years of classical piano lessons and music theory. From then on, Jay moved out to L.A. and began playing sessions as well as live shows with countless numbers of bands and artists. Jay's participation in numerous tribute records followed, sharing in the drumming duties with the best drummers in the world today. Some of these include DRAGON ATTACK (Queen), THUNDERBOLT (AC/DC), BAT'S HEAD SOUP (Ozzy Osbourne), TALES FROM YESTERDAY (Yes), SUPPER'S READY (Genesis), THE MOON REVISITED (Pink Floyd). Jay finds time to teach, perform clinics and do television and motion picture session dates, as well as steady recording sessions for a variety of artists. |
