AKG K340 - "Test Winner"

Even the packaging shows that value is placed on quality. The sleek, matt black box provides the perfect packaging for the headphones, also known as “Liquorice”. Besides the transducers, there is also a pouch for storing the headphones, plus  three different sizes of silicone caps. AKG is the only candidate among those tested to offer a volume control function directly on the approximately one-meter cable, so that it is not always necessary to take up the player to adjust sound levels.

The earphones prominently display the company logo. With good reason, as the "K 340" are impressive in terms of looks. The K 340 deliver a slightly richer bass reproduction and a pleasing, harmonious overall sound. Bass-heavy songs that are predestined for in-ear headphones increase in intensity through amazingly rich and dry bass tones. However, in contrast with many other models, the mid-tone and treble ranges are not neglected. Depending on the song, the mid-tones and trebles sound a little finer than the competition and the 122 dB sound pressure level can reproduce loud pieces of music impulsively.
