In Decicision

I'm having a tough time making a decisicion between the
K240 & the K501.

I will be using them to do live recordings of a "Funk, Rock band" And then Mixing down on my home computer with Cakewalk. I want to be able to use the phones as studio monitors for each bandmember when multitracking so isolation is important plus relatively high SPL is important for use when the drummer is recording.

I will also probably use them at home when listening to CD's at home because listening to music on a stereo conflicts with other people in the house.

I listen to plenty of Ambient Electronic Music, which is why I am looking at the 501's for their clarity. And I also listen to hip hop & breakbeats so low end punch is a neccesity.

For your applications I recommend either the  K240 or - under consideration, that you ayre looking for headphones with good isolation - the K 271.
