K240S and portables

Yes, I successfully use the K240S (55 ohms) with a Sony Discman. The sound is quite full and lovely, and revealing of detail. Since I only listen this way while doing work in my office (and my attention is mostly on my work), I'm hardly aware of the portable CD player's lower quality D/A converter than that of a good quality CD deck.
The K240M does not work very well directly from a portable, nor does the K401. These would require an amp.
