Hi all.

I have a pair of K 141's purchased back in the 1980's.  Paid about 70 or 80 dollars for them back then, brand new, and never had a need to try and find anything "better".
Unfortunately, they need replacing now.
So, can someone tell me which of the current AKG headphones would most closely be related to my old K 141's (in terms of replicating their sound)?
I dont need anything "better".  Those old K 141's are my reference and I'd really love to find the replacement that sounds exactly like them although I realize that's probably not realistic.
So anyway ... Im assuming probably the K 141 MK II is the modern day "equivalent" but the K 142HD seems to hint at being based on the K 141 as well.
So which current AKG fits the bill?

Thanks

Hi Laudanum,

Your beloved K 141´s are fully serviceable - AKG has all spareparts on stock.
The headphones from the new product range are different in impedance and frequency response. ( they have now 55 Ohm instead of 600 Ohm and their frequency response has been widened up in lows and highs).
So visit your local AKG dealer - he will repair your old K 141.

Great news, thanks.
So the new ones are obviously a much easier load to drive.  Makes sense with the portable music players and small headphone amps so popular today.

One more question ...
Is there any way I can ship them to directly to AKG for repair?
If so, what is the contact phone number?

Thanks
