I'm quite intrigued by what I have read about the K501 on this and other forums.  It sounds exactly like the kind of headphones I would want for general "living room"  listening, as opposed to studio recording.

Several people remark that the K501 sounds adequate from the headphone jacks of components (receivers, CD recorders, tape recorders, etc.), but really needs a headphone amp "to get the most out of them."  I don't know much about headphone amps, but I do know about the British hi-fi company, Rega.  Has anyone by chance heard the K501 with the Rega Ear headphone amp?  The Ear is in the price range I would want to spend (just under $200 US).

Thanks.
