I really like the fact that cable are detachable: no need to change headphone when cable is broken.Smiley

AKG has distributors wordwide who can help if needed.
To find your distributor go to "contact" on the headline of this site and choose "international distributors" in the pull down menue - then simply select your country.

Hi!
The hungarian distributor (Absolut Sound Kft.) replaced my cable 4 times. Usually i had to wait one or two weeks for the cable. 2 month ago my cable broke again and i ordered a new one. i'm still waiting.. i called them and they said they waiting for AKG to ship the cable. Is there any chance that i can skip the distributor and order directly from AKG? The distributor is not so customer friendly.
2 month is a long time, it was an expensive headphone for me, i love it, but the cable is terrible. its a silly thing, such a great headphones with sh..ty cable..

One week ago i send letter to sales@akg.com, but still no reply. Here is my letter:

I am from Ukraine. I bought K-450 earphones on 15 february 2010. After six months of use, the long cable broke. Then i was using the short cable for three months, but it broke too. Both of cables have no mechanical damage. I called the official AKG service center in Ukraine ("ITS" Kyiv city, M. Shpaka str. 5) but they said, that their is no warranty on cables. They suggested me to buy new cables for EUR 14.
I was interested with this question, and i have found that it is known problem with K-450 (http://www.akg.com/forum/index.php?topic=2136.0).

Please tell me, why I have to spend money to buy cable for my K-450, while other people have not? The same time we have similar products, with similar international AKG warranty.

I am using the production of Harman/Kardon, JBL, AKG for many years, and it is sad to have this complain.

Guys same thing happened to my K450 cable and I contacted Frank @ AKG spare parts , he took my info and within 5 minutes got me a cable replacement! Now that's what I call customer service! 5 stars! Thanks Frank and AKG! Customers in teh same situation should contact him! That is if your headphones are still under warranty!  Wink

Ralf Tuma from Harman contacted me, and i sent him the copy of my warranty card and got a pair of cables! That is the real service!
