Hello! I was about to buy the k501, but I was discouraged because I listened many comments that their reproduction of bass is very poor.  But reading about the new system " varimotion " I can conclude that this problem has solved it!

Now the question is: (well, in fact they are several)

? The system " varimotion " is new?

? From what year are headphones manufactured with this system?

? If it is a new system, it solves the lack of bass in the k501?

? The k501 with poor bass, are old versions?

? The k501 in general, including the recent version, are made only for  music with little demand of  bass as: classic, jazz, instrumental? cl?sica, jazz, instrumental?

? If I need some headphones with deep bass to listen electronic music: techno, trance and house, which is the appropriate?

Thanks you for some coherent and precise answer!
A greeting from Colombia!!

Hi,

The Varimotion Diaphragm Technology was introduced in autumn 1996 with the new K501, which replaced the K500 without Varimotion.
The K501 does not have missing or bad bass reproduction. The bass portion was consciously not enlarged,  but finely adjusted in order to achieve a clear brilliant and transparent sound that is nevertheless voluminous however.
This characteristic is particularly appraised by sound purists and is suitable particularly well for classical or e-music generally as well as for acoustic jazz.
For Techno, Trance and House music we would recommend either the K240 studio or the K271 studio since they provide clearly more bass reproduction.

best wishes to Colombia

You recommend the K270S?

It's a brilliant headphone - maybe the best sound of all but:

For me there's not enough bass - I will send it back.
That's what the testers also say. It's lacking bass.
