Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent portability and sound Just got it and I'm already impressed. Sound and portability are top notch, though I wish I new how to increase the volume for the microphone. Bluetooth works like a charm with my iPhone and my Macbook. Now importantly for me, I can wear it for extended periods without getting ear fatigue. Well done! Got it on eBay really cheap so I won in all aspects. My only privileged hmm is that the manuals are kinda skimpy and as I said, the microphone volume is too low and I don't know how to increase it. Thank you none the less!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Marvelous ! I want to let everyone know that I was not able to turn on the bluetooth following instructions. However I called support and the call was answered IMMEDIATLY ! How unusual that is. They instructed me to hold the power botton (the one between the aux jack and LED) down 3 to 5 seconds. I tried that a number of times with no reaction of the LED. I then touched the button with as brief a push as possible and immediatly the blue LED started to flash and I was able to quickly pair with my phone . The other factor that others who have probably had similar issues is the charging port and light on the left ear cup. When the USB cable is connected to a charger a RED LED comes on to indicate charging is taking place. Once the battery is charged the LED will go out. If you remove and reinstall the charger the LED will come on again, but maybe for less than 1 minute. Again this is an indication that the battery is charged and not an indication that the charger doesn't work. Frankly all that is really required is plainly state the above information on the instructions in appropriate translations for the dozen languages included. A good product with good support but absolute rubbish for included information. Other than this issue the audio quality is very clear, bass is reasonable but clean. Physically the build is far better than most over ear phones that I have previously experienced. Very pleased, don't let my comments above disuade you. I really made this post to help others avoid frustration of turning them on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable & Sound Great! I got these headphones for Christmas and am still thoroughly enjoying them. They sound great and although they aren't noise-cancelling, they do a pretty decent job of blocking out background noise. I use them at work and at home and use them at night to fall asleep. They're really comfortable and have saved me more than once when I wanted to sleep and block out background noise. The battery is also really good. I can wear these for days without charging. I don't think I've ever run out of battery, but typically don't go more than 3-4 days without charging because I don't want to be left in a lurch. I highly recommend these headphones for comfort, sound and longevity.

What sets these apart is the pass through option I have used it both to save battery and when I've killed the battery. All around awesome set of headphones. My favorite pair I own

He said that the headphones are great sounding and very comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You won't regret this purchase. Would buy again and again. Exceptional sound and battery life. Deep, accurate base. Very detailed throughout the range. They don't get hot on my ears like my over-ear Sennheisers. Comfortable, but a little heavy if you're on the move. Like if I stand up and they're not centered, they'll slide off my head. Sound does transfer when taking steps too, may be the seal to my ear giving. Instant pairing is nice but occasionally it doesn't pick up and I have to go into my phone settings. Sometimes it picks up when they're in my work bag and I have to turn Bluetooth to severe connection.

I am moving to China, can these headphones be charged in China or do i need a power adaptor. Y50BT or C50st

They charge from a standard micro USB port, so as long as you have any standard USB charger for compatible voltage range, you can just connect it and charge. You don't have to use the supplied charger.

My ear cups rotate the wrong way for resting on the neck, at least according to all the pictures I see. They only rotate inwards which makes the earcups point up with the branded part resting against my neck. Is there a way to adjust the rotation?

You can easily swap L with R to fold the cups the other way round. Most of the phones can swap L and R channels for this too.

Desktop connecting on Windows 10 via bluetooth. Shows AKG Y5OBT as headphones stereo and handfree. Mic will not connect if attempting to use Stereo. Will connect with Handsfree, but not in stereo sound. Computer uses RealTek audio.

What you are experiencing is normal. The computer will prevent the use of Microphone if the Headphone Stereo is selected, this is because the computer detected it as a normal multimedia stereo speakers. On the other hand, the computer will then allow the use of Microphone if you select Handsfree, this is because the computer detected it as a speakerphone.

How long should these take to charge? The "manual" has three words: "solid red charging." Well, I connected these to my phone's QC 2.0 charger overnight (for about 10 hours) and the light was still solid red in the morning. So were they still charging?

This is normal. We recommend that you always use the charger that is provided to you in the box when charging our wireless products. In some cases, the LED light would keep on while charging the unit, but will not turn off once it's fully charges, no matter how long charging continues and will show a constant light indicator. This is caused by tolerances in the circuits, and is no cause for alarm. The battery is charged to the same level. If the LED is not turning off when the Y50BT at full charge, please submit an case on https://us.akg.com/support-returns-and-warranty.html and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to further assist you.

Is there a reset button or a way to reset the headphone? Mine will not turn on and they are brand new, only used twice...

I’m sorry to know that you are having issues with the Y50BT. Unfortunately, there is no reset option with this headphone. Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds which is located on the right side of the headphone. The Y50BT charging LED light should turn constant amber. If this doesn't help, please submit a case request at https://us.akg.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to further assist you.

Please clarify which is 'Left' and 'Right'. The cs answers and the pictures in the guide don't match up. Even the cs reps answers contradict each other.

Sorry for the confusion. As shown in the Quick Start Guide, All controls are on the right while the charging port is on the left ear capsule. The left/right indications are printed inside the ear pads audio passage.

Unfortunately, there is no way to turn off the blue LED light since that indicates if your device is connected via Bluetooth or not.
