N60NC Wireless is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely well pleased I listen primarily to music with a strong vocal component: early and traditional music, contemporary folk, modern vocal compositions etc. For such music, these headphones perform exceptionally well. I can't speak to bass reproduction, as the music I listen too is generally strongest in the higher registers, except to say that it seems more than adequate. I ran some bench-marking tests, which the headphones passed with flying colors. Soundstaging seems pretty effective to my ears; however, I can claim no great sophistication as an audiophile. As I use these for traveling, the fact that they fold down compactly and are relatively light is a big plus. Bluetooth pairing is extremely straightforward and unusually well executed compared to many devices I have used. Use with the supplied cable is easy and the sound quality equally excellent (or possibly slightly better). I have not experience any discomfort from the ear pads, with up to a couple of hours of continuous listening. The noise canceling is terrific, and a delight as I do much of my listening on long rides on the bus (I'm a long-distance commuter). I can't speak to long-term durability, but these seem very well built, and the included soft pouch is very handy. All in all, I'm delighted. The only negatives are the placing of the volume and pairing switches on the right-hand speaker, which can get confusing, and the fact that they are a little loose on my head.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Headphones/ wireless or not This is my second AKG N60 headphone. I purchased the wired headphone over a year ago and the wireless a month ago. The headphone NC capability is remarkable. You can hear / not hear the difference with the NC on / off switch on the wired headset. Its almost as if the listener was in a sound proof booth. I've used the NC capability on a recent Alaska Airline 5 hour trip, the NC is great and the headphone charge is easily a good 12-14 hours, sometimes longer. Both wired and wireless NC equally amazing. For those who are more interested in sound quality, the frequency range is balanced and clean. Sound at all ends of the spectrum are clear and there is no distortion unless you crank up the volume to the point that it would be uncomfortable to use. I've always been a fan of the full frequency response (20-20,000 ) sounding clean and clear, without the necessity of a boost to base or the need for an equalizer. These headphones are truly clean and clear. Of course, the use of an equalizer to create a personalized experience will only enhance the headphone experience, but not necessary for a wide range of music or listening. I enjoy a wide range of music, from: classical, to jazz, to rock, to new age, even books on tape. These headphones sound clean with the full spectrum. Lastly, the price for such a high quality (high quality material/form) headphone with NC capacity is about as good as it gets. I've tried Bose headset and other, but these are their equal in almost all aspects, but a good 20 percent less in price point. And, the customer service is impeccable. I needed new head phone pads for the original set, and they were shipped immediately, under warranty, with no question or hassle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great headphones with wireless convenience I picked these headphones at Harman store last week; very happy with their performance. They offer signature AKG sound - clear, well-balanced, powerful. Very comfortable to wear due to thick padding. Excellent noise cancellation - noticeably improved over previous N60 wired model. They are more compact and more convenient than competitive models from Sony, Bose, Sennheiser. Also they feature a metal connection between headband and housings instead of plastic that makes the construction stronger and better looking than other models. These headphones are a lot of fun to listen to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My long search comes to a close I own a number of headphones, each with a distinct purpose, but lately I've become frustrated with the cable on the headphones I use for travel, and their lack of noise canceling. I've looked and looked for a pair of bluetooth headphones with ANC that are as compact as those were and that search has thankfully come to a close with the N60NC. Very compact, amazing sound, excellent noise cancelling, great battery life, and passive listening capability with the included cable. This guy has hit the jackpot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect travel headphones I am a user of AKG noise cancelling headphones from the 490 through the original non Bluetooth N60NC and welcomed this wireless version as the next step. I have used AKG NG headphones in global travel on planes, trains and noisy environments. They sound perfect, have robust construction, a better pouch than N60NC and most importantly the Bluetooth works properly. The construction is a step up from the previous version as is the fit. All was good before but these are a delight. The controls are worth checking into as they are slightly different from earlier version but after a few minutes I was using them intuitively. I use these mostly in wired mode but when I do switch to Bluetooth all is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally worthy of a 5 star review I previously owned the k-490 and k-495s and was heart broken both times when the flimsy plastic that held the earpieces to the headband broke. Even with a warranty, it's still disappointing to see such a great sounding product be crippled with a plastic weak point. So, when I saw the N60NC wireless up on the AKG site, I had my doubts again. BUT... the wonderful people at AKG listened and have fixed this issue with the N60NC wireless model! Yes, the piece that connects the headband to the earpieces is now made out of METAL! Now we can all enjoy the amazing AKG sound with noise cancelling and bluetooth wireless and NOT have to worry about them breaking! Thank you AKG for finally fixing this fatal flaw! I love my new N60NC wireless headphones!

How loud can these headphones go? I have found that most bluetooth headphones don't go as loud as I like listening to rock music becaue of the stupid EU nanny state. I need to have enough headroom for volume if I feel like it louder than 'normal'

Asked by: twister52
Hi The AKG N60NC Wireless plays at 111dB SPL/V@1kHz ( this is when using Bluetooth ). When you connect the headphones by cable to a source with some amplification power, it will go up to 126dB SPL/V@1kHz. If you require further assistance, please contact our customer support, and we will gladly any other questions you might have

I gather that the headphones can NOT be used in Bluetooth mode with the Noise Cancelling OFF? But in wired mode you can switch the NC off? Is this because you have linked both the BT and NC to the same single power switch? It seems a failing.

Asked by: IanH
Hi, you are correct. The Bluetooth and the noise cancellation are both on the same switch, therefore if you have bluetooth switched on, NC is always on as well. NC can be avoided by using the cable instead if you would prefer not to use it.

Can the headphones be paired with multiple Bluetooth devices at the same time And if so how many? Can it switch between them Without having to disconnect and then connect to another device ? Thanks

Asked by: SteveX
Hello! Thank you for your message. The N60NC Wireless can be paired with one smart device at a time. In order to be able to connect a different smart device, you will have to un-pair the already connected smart device and put the headphones again in pairing mode, in order to be able to make a new connection.

Hi... how repairable are the ear cups should they need replacing at some point?

Asked by: meme
Hello! Thank you for your message. The ear cushions can be replaced if need it. The quality of the material is very high, so the chances to require a replacement pair of ear cushions are low.

Should the red 'charging' light remain on throughout charging? - it's gone off and I'm not sure if the battery is fully charged or still charging. Thanks.

Asked by: Mart
Hello. Thank you for your message. While the headphones are on charge the LED will be steady red. As soon as the battery is fully charged, the LED will turn off.

How long does it take to fully charge? -- I've not found this information elsewhere. Frustrating too to not know at what point the battery level is-- blinking low battery means how many hours or minutes left?

Asked by: Saya
Depending on the electrical source you are using to charge the headphones. If you are using a wall charger with a standard residential circuit of 15 or 20 amps-it typically takes 2 hours for the N60NC to receive a full charge. You should see the led blinking green when you have about 20 minutes left of battery life left.

How long should I expect the battery to last when the headphones are off? On the wired version I could expect the headphones to retain their charge for several days at the very least. With the wireless version I'm only seeing them retain charge for 48H.

Asked by: Smescrater
Hi, The battery should definitely hold longer than 48 hours when fully charged, and not in use. Can you please make sure that you at least once discharge the battery completely ( by playing on battery power until the headphones indicate they need charging ), and fully charge the battery again. Make sure nothing is paired by Bluetooth while not in use. If this issue persists, I would like to suggest you go back to the store where you bought your headphones, so they can send them in for service, or contact us directly on customer.support@harman.com so we can assist you.
